28º BIENAL DO LIVRO DE SÃO PAULO

From September 4th to 13th, 2026, Distrito Anhembi will once again host the center of culture and literature in Latin America. The 28th São Paulo International Book Biennial features the theme “Word and Future” (Palavra e Futuro), highlighting how literature dialogues with technology, inclusion, and sustainability.

Recognized as the largest literary event in Brazil and the third largest in the world, the Biennial will gather publishers, authors, literary agents, and readers for a diverse and innovative program. Highlights for 2026 include:

✅ Debates on artificial intelligence applied to writing and editorial accessibility.

✅ Spaces dedicated to Indigenous and Afro-Brazilian literature, reinforcing diversity and representation.

✅ Creative writing workshops, activities for children and teens, storytelling, and live illustration sessions.

✅ “Palavra Digital” area, featuring discussions on audiobooks, e-books, and self-publishing platforms.

✅ Tributes to Brazilian literary classics, such as Guimarães Rosa and Carolina Maria de Jesus.

With an expected turnout of over 700,000 visitors, the Biennial reinforces São Paulo as the cultural capital of Latin America, featuring immersive experiences, book signings, panel discussions, and meet-ups with literary influencers.
