Get ready to experience the thrill of the Desfiles das Escolas de Samba at the Sambódromo do Distrito Anhembi, the official stage of São Paulo’s Carnival since 1991. In 2026, 33 samba schools promise to enchant the audience with creativity, tradition, and vibrant energy!

The festivities kick off on February 7 with the Grupo de Acesso 2 parades — and admission is free!
On February 13 and 14, the Grupo Especial schools compete for the championship title in nights filled with pure magic.
On February 15, it’s time for the Grupo de Acesso 1 to close the event with a golden finale.
And on February 21, the long-awaited Desfile das Campeãs brings the winning schools back for an unforgettable celebration.

To enjoy responsibly, pay attention to what is allowed and prohibited on parade days

Allowed items

  • Backpack
  • Raincoat
  • Flag without pole

You may bring non-perishable, industrialized food items that are properly sealed (e.g., cookies, toast, cereal bars, etc.), and cut fruits stored in transparent, non-rigid packaging such as Zip Lock bags, limited to three (3) items per person, to prevent street vending. Any quantity exceeding this limit may be discarded at the entrance.

Stay hydrated while enjoying the rhythm! Our Sambódromo is equipped with water fountains, ensuring a celebration filled not only with music but also with fresh drinking water.

🚫 Prohibited items
To ensure public safety, the following items are not allowed:

  1. Rigid bottles of any kind or size (except plastic water bottles without caps, which may be removed by security);
  2. Rigid containers with lids;
  3. Thermal, glass, or metal cups;
  4. Cans of any kind;
  5. Chairs and stools;
  6. Umbrellas, sharp, piercing, or cutting objects;
  7. Firearms or bladed weapons (knives, pocket knives, etc.);
  8. Fireworks;
  9. Glass, rigid plastic, metal, or wooden objects;
  10. Beverages of any kind, unless in disposable cups;
  11. Flammable or corrosive materials;
  12. Sprays;
  13. Laser pointers or other light-emitting devices.

For special diets, as long as the guidelines above are followed, there will be no restrictions. Please note that children’s access to the Sambódromo is subject to the regulations issued by the Juvenile Court of the Santana Regional Forum.

LIGA-SP clarifies that the prohibition of cans and bottles is solely to ensure the safety and physical integrity of the public. Soft drinks and beer sold on-site are served in disposable plastic cups.

Age Classification

  • Children aged 6 to 12: entry allowed only with full-time accompaniment by a parent.
  • Children aged 13 to 17: entry allowed with full-time accompaniment by a responsible adult.
  • Children under 6 years old: not allowed.

How to Get There

Public Transport
During the five parade days (Grupo Especial, Acesso 1 and 2, and Desfile das Campeãs), SPTrans activates two exclusive bus lines to the Sambódromo, departing from the Portuguesa-Tietê and Palmeiras-Barra Funda metro stations. Night service bus lines also help revelers return home. All lines charge regular fares and accept all Bilhete Único payment methods.

Metro
On Friday and Saturday (February 13 and 14), the Palmeiras-Barra Funda station (serving CPTM and Metro) and Portuguesa-Tietê station (Line 1-Blue) will remain open continuously for boarding and disembarking. All other metro and train stations will be open only for transfers and disembarking.

Taxi and Ride Apps
Drop-off is preferably near the Ponte da Casa Verde and Avenida Braz Leme, which offers the shortest route to the entrance gates.

Parking
Every year during Carnival, a special operation is set up to welcome visitors in our parking lot. More information coming soon.
