The Traditional September 7th Parade Will Take Place at the Sambadrome

On September 7th, the Sambadrome at the Distrito Anhembi will host the traditional Civic-Military Parade in celebration of Brazil’s Independence Day. The event is free and open to the public, offering a unique opportunity for families and citizens to come together and honor this historic date.

The program begins at 8:00 AM with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the troop inspection at 8:30 AM. The official parade starts at 9:00 AM and continues until noon.

The parade is divided into two segments:

  • Civic Parade, featuring students from municipal and state schoolscivil organizationsveterans’ associations, and military schools.
  • Military Parade, including members of the Brazilian NavyBrazilian ArmyBrazilian Air Force, as well as public security forces such as the Military PoliceCivil PoliceMetropolitan Civil GuardSamuCET, and even war dogs and military vehicles.

The parade concludes with the Mounted Troop Unit, composed of military personnel on horseback. With over 6,700 participants, both civilian and military, the parade is a demonstration of respect for historical memory and a commitment to the country’s future.

The event symbolically and patriotically celebrates the values of citizenship, history, and national unity. Brazil’s Independence, proclaimed in 1822, is a fundamental milestone in the construction of our identity as a sovereign nation.
